Silo Delivery

All Our Silos are delivered by our dedicated vehicle to your site.

They are positioned in a convenient location both for yourselves and ease of access for our delivery vehicles when you require a refill.

Environment and Waste Management

A Flo Mix UK silo is designed to improve efficiency on site and reduce waste.

At the point of production, all our materials are batched using our state of the art control system so that consistency is ensured, and also eliminating unnecessary waste.

At Flomix we operate both rigid and articulated vehicles to accommodate our customers requirements.

Site Survey

At Flomix UK we will carry out a site survey at an early stage of the contract to discuss and advise the most suitable location for placing the silo and to ensure that access for all placement and delivery vehicles are safe and suitable.
Comprehensive method statements and risk assessments are available for the placing procedure.
This service is included in the agreed material price. Servicing is carried out in line with manufacturer’s recommendations.
Silos cannot be provided to sites that do not comply with these requirements

Silo Base Requirements

A 3.0m x3.0m meter base is required in 35 Newton concrete 125mm thick (This will support a minimum 35 tonnes). The base must be constructed on a well-compacted aggregate sub base.

Silos will not be supplied unless above instructions are carried out.

Flomix mortar will advise a location of silo so that access for the delivery vehicle is safe and suitable.

In Addition:

No movement of the silo must be carried out after placement without the permission of Flomix UK.
Access to the silo must be maintained at all times and controlled by the site.
The silo measurers 7.2 meters from the top of the foundation to the top of the silo,
The site is responsible to provide safe access for deliveries and collections and all signage relating to that.

Power Requirements

Single Phase Mains

The connection from the mains requires a 32A single phase 3 pin industrial socket which must be provided from a 32A motor rated MCB type C or D. The electrical supply must be protected by a 30mA RCD exclusively for the silo.

Generator

Where no power is available a generator with a minimum capacity of 13 kVA (Fitted with a 32A 3 pin industrial socket from a 32A motor rated MCB. type C or D) is also sufficient to run the silo. Failure to do this will result in costly repairs to the electrical components of the control panel. Likewise, the generator must be started before the control panel isolator is switched on.

NOTE: All installations must be installed to be current IEE Regulation requirements for electrical installations (BS7671:2001) with attention being paid to the special location section relating to construction sites – section 604

Flomix UK ‘DO NOT’ supply power cables and it is the responsibility of the site to arrange for this to be available on site before an induction can be carried out.

Water Requirements

A standard 1/2″ tap located within 5 meters of the silo is required and the integral water pump on the control panel will provide the necessary pressure for the mixing unit. If the direct pressure from the mains supply is sufficient it can be fed via a 25mm hose.

Where poor pressure is experienced a 60-litre storage barrel controlled by a ball cock can be fitted to provide a steady flow of clean water.

Silos can be run off a browser. Our representative can advise of this and the relevant connections.

Any damages or alterations made to the Silo or associated equipment must be reported to Flomix UK immediately.
The company who orders the Silo will be held liable for all damage which may results from the improper use of the Silo.
Flomix UK provide comprehensive on site training sessions for customers and staff using Flomix UK Silos and records are kept for all trained users.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that only trained operators use Flomix UK Silos and that the correct procedure which has been covered in the training sessions are followed by operators.
Damage to Flomix UK Silos or associated equipment will be charged for.
